Ice Cream Social

The MLNA Ice Cream Social is our biggest social event of the year.  The 2022 event drew about 350 people and enabled them to:

  • Meet their neighbors, both long-time and newcomers.
  • Visit the ice cream table for a free individually wrapped ice cream treats.
  • Buy a Monta Loma tee shirt and  logo items.
  • Ask Gizmo Gary for a balloon creation.
  • Learn more about the city’s Zero Waste and Food Scraps & Recycling programs.
  • Visit our Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) display and sign up.
  • Volunteer to help our school at the PTA table, and buy some spirit wear.
  • Chat with members of Friends of Mountain View Parks, an organization advocating for more parks and open space.
  • Visit the plant-exchange table.
  • Enjoy some pink cotton candy.
  • Learn about the Mountain View Historical Association.
  • Ask questions about trees at the Canopy table.
  • Learn what the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) does for our schools.
  • Listen to neighborhood band On the Edge.
  • Watch robot horses pull a carriage on the paved walkway.
  • Contribute some local lore or artifacts to the Monta Loma History display.
  • Meet  Ellen Wheeler and Laura Ramirez Berman of the MVWSD Board of Trustees; City Council members Ellen Kamei, Lisa Matichak, Pat Showalter, and Mayor Lucas Ramirez; and City Manager Kimbra McCarthy.
