Schools

The school system available to Monta Loma residents is excellent, with its students scoring well above state averages. Monta Loma Elementary School and Crittenden Middle School serve this neighborhood and have students that represent our diverse community. The Mountain View Whisman School District offers several unique alternative learning programs as well, such as dual language immersion, an Independent Study Program, and the PACT program.

Los Altos High School serves Monta Loma as well, offering a wide variety of college prep courses and educational enrichment opportunities to its student body. It is part of the Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District.

Note: With more than 450 students at Monta Loma Elementary, traffic is heavy around drop-off and pick-up times, and on rainy days. Anything that neighbors can do to avoid Thompson Avenue at those times is greatly appreciated. The traffic times are are 8:10 – 8:35, 1:50 – 2:10, and 3:00 – 3:30. On Thursdays all students leave at 12:30.
