The MLNA Ice Cream Social is our biggest social event of the year. This year it’s on Sunday, August 26, in Monta Loma Park from 3:00 to 5:00.

Some of the things to do at this year’s event:

  • Visit the MLNA welcome table first and sign in. (Our insurance requires this.)
Write your name and street on a nametag so your neighbors can meet you.
  • Sign up there for a welcome packet if you’re a new resident.
  • Visit the ice cream toppings table for add-ons to enhance your ice cream.
  • Buy a Monta Loma tee shirt.
  • Stop by the Monta Loma School PTA table to learn what’s new at our school.
  • See the yarn bomb created by the neighborhood knitting group.
  • Stop by the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) table.
  • Check out the offerings at the city’s Recreation Department‘s display.
  • Visit our Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) display.
  • Ask Gizmo Gary to make you a balloon hat.
  • Meet members of our City Council and the MVWSD and MVLAHSD boards.
  • Chat with the members of our police department.
  • Ask questions at the Mountain View Trees table.
  • Contribute some local lore or artifacts to the Monta Loma History display and learn about Neighborhood Watch.
  • Watch for a life-size walking robot.
  • Look for a visit by a MV Fire Department engine and its crew after 4:00, and a rainbow just before they leave.
  • See what’s aboard the Mobile Library.

It takes many people to make the ICS a success, so please see ways to contribute or contact eventcoordinator@montaloma.org
