Please participate in the Annual Meeting and Board Election on Wednesday, May 30, at 250 Mayfield Ave. If you like what your Board is doing, come and vote its members. If not, replace any or all of them. As always, all board positions are open.

Except for our First Vice President, who is retiring, the current board members have agreed to continue to serve if reelected. We do have a candidate for First Vice President and for Member-at-Large (details are in the newsletter that will be distributed on the weekend of May 19/20), but we welcome hearing from anyone interested in joining the Board. If you appreciate living in our neighborhood, this is a good way to give back.

Nominations may be made from the floor at the election (with the consent of the nominee), but to place your name on the printed ballot, or to obtain an absentee ballot, contact Baidra Murphy at by 6 p.m. on Friday, May 25.

7:00 p.m.  Doors open for sign-in and refreshments. Chat with both the new and continuing MLNA board candidates.

7:15 p.m.  President’s update.

7:30 p.m.  Introduction of candidates and voting.

7:45 p.m.  Program

Mayor Lenny Siegel will bring us up to date and answer questions on local topics such as regulating vehicle dwellers and short-term rentals such as Airbnb.

Google X’s Dan Della Maggiora will discuss parking/traffic, the new museum, the empty space at Nita and San Antonio, and other topics of neighborhood interest. For background about the “Moonshot Factory” on our doorstep, Dan urges us to watch CEO Astro Teller’s 15-minute TED talk The unexpected benefit of celebrating failure before the meeting.
