Last year’s record-setting 13 block parties were greatly enjoyed, so if your block hasn’t yet begun the tradition, this is the year to begin. “How-to” information is on the Block Parties page and can be printed. Tom Purcell created a map of the locations of the 2016 parties.

If you want to block off a street, you should allow 30 days for the City to process your permit application. If you’d like a police officer to stop by during your party, mention it on your application.

“Road Closed” signs and orange safety cones are available for loan by CERT. There are enough cones for two parties held on the same day, but there are only two Road Closed signs. So to ensure that these will be available when you want them, let CERT’s John Thomas know as soon as you’ve set your date.
