The Annual Meeting and Board Election will be on Thursday, June 2, at 250 Mayfield Ave.

Please participate in the election. If you like what we’re doing, come and vote for us. If not, replace any or all of us. Except for our vice presidents, who are retiring, the current board members have agreed to continue to serve if reelected. More information about the current board and the new candidates is here.

As always, all positions are open, so do feel free to volunteer to run. Nominations may be made from the floor at the election (with the consent of the nominee), but to place your name on the printed ballot, contact Alice Hazelgrove by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25.

If you need an absentee ballot, contact Alice by 6 p.m. on Friday, May 27.

Schedule

7:00 p.m.  Doors open for sign-in and refreshments. Chat with both the new and continuing MLNA board candidates; the MVPD officers who will present part of the program; and Gloria Higgins, Monta Loma School’s new principal.

7:15 p.m.  President’s update

7:30 p.m.  Introduction of candidates, voting by paper ballot

7:45 p.m.  Program: MVPD on crime prevention; Monta Loma School reconstruction

“Ask a Cop”: Officers from the MVPD will update us on crime prevention and social media, and answer your questions.

Monta Loma School reconstruction project: The project has been postponed to 2017 because the state approval process is taking significantly longer than anticipated. Mary Ann Duggan, MVWSD’s Director of Capital Projects, will give us an update and answer questions.

To help the speakers prepare, please send your questions on either topic to Marilyn by Tuesday, May 31.
