Approximately 35 residents attended the meeting on June 2 in the community room at 250 Mayfield Ave. After a welcome by MLNA Secretary Alice Hazelgrove, two officers of the Mountain View Police Department updated us on crime prevention. They emphasized that block parties are an important factor in maintaining a safe neighborhood.

MLNA President Bill Cranston reported on the progress he’s made with the concerns of neighbors living near our corporate neighbor. He also reviewed the MLNA’s activities for the past year, and introduced the board candidates.

Jill Rakestraw introduced Gloria Higgins, the new principal at Monta Loma Elementary School. Mary Ann Duggan, Director of Capital Projects for the Mountain View Whisman School District, showed slides explaining the construction work at Monta Loma Elementary School, now scheduled to begin in June 2017.

Because the board election was uncontested, the vote for the new and continuing board members was by acclamation. To contact a board member, go to the Contact page.
